Think-Feel-Do Problem-Solver's Worksheet

$2.99

Have you felt lost trying to help a neurodiverse child to understand why their behavior wasn’t helpful or appropriate? Did they learn what you hoped they would learn? Did they resist and shut down?

Download this resource to help your child review social miscues, arguments, and big feelings. Use this concrete visual problem-solving process to help your child SEE what contributed to their challenging behavior or outcome, and UNDERSTAND how they can CHOOSE a more helpful or positive path next time and beyond.

In Mike Fogel’s social skills programs, children learn to “Take the Road to Happiness”. They discover that they have the power to direct their lives in positive ways by CHOOSING helpful behaviors. Inspired by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, it is understood that people’s reactions follow a predictable sequence, beginning with immediate thoughts that lead to feelings, which trigger impulses to act. With this visual tool, children concretely identify thought distortions that lead to negative social outcomes and emotional eruptions. After realizing the process that drove the unwanted social outcome, they can plot a new course with helpful thoughts and behavior strategies that steer them towards their Road to Happiness!
